Very soon it will be Rosh Hashanah, the year 5,784 according to the Jewish calendar. Each Jewish New Year is significant, and at the beginning of each Jewish New Year, the Lord often speaks about that year.
As I’m seeking the Lord, what I’m hearing is change, change and transformation. There are uprootings which will take place, things which will be moved and repositioned. Some of you will be moved, you will be moved to new places. There are changes which are coming which will at times be abrupt, but as you make the Lord your home, as you make the Lord your rock, you will be secure.
The Lord says to you, “Trust in Me that I am there and I am in control, for I am the Lord who is moving and positioning you.”
I’m reminded of Joseph, Joseph in Egypt, and how the Lord positioned him for the time of famine, the time of need. The Lord says, “There are situations which are happening to some which you do not understand. It feels almost as if things are going wrong, like Joseph when he was put in prison, when he was taken to another country. Yet keep your eyes upon the bigger picture, for I am the Lord who sees the whole picture and the Lord who brings everything into its rightful place.
“I’m moving some of you and positioning you now for that which is needed later. Others will be surprised at how I turn your situations around and how I use you as a source of blessing. I will use you as a source of blessing to those who once accused you, those who once pulled you down.
“For this reason, repentance and forgiveness are important, for I’m making you into one who speaks My heart, one who will do My will. I will use you to move mountains. I will use you in significant ways.”
Now is a time of coming to Him in repentance. Now is a time of seeking His face. There is much which He is doing, much more than meets the eye.
The Lord says, “Trust in Me that I am at work and that I am the one who will show you the whole picture in the right time. Celebrate My goodness and celebrate My faithfulness, for I’m leading you forward by faith, not by sight. I’m leading you into that which is beyond what you could have dreamed, beyond what you could have imagined. But it will come by walking by faith. It will come through being faithful to Me in this year.”
I see the Lord lifting you up, lifting you up upon His shoulders. I see waters which come like a flood, which come in, and yet you are safe because the Lord has you upon His shoulders.
The Lord says to you, “Trust in Me, for I am your security. I am the one who is your security, the one who is your strength. There is mighty trouble which is coming. There are changes which are coming which will shake the heavens and the earth. They will shake the society around you. And yet, because you are rooted upon Me as your rock, because you stand tall upon My word, you will not be moved.
“Others will see you and they will see Me. They will not believe the reason, the reason that you have hope. They will see that you have hope when everything else is hopeless. Trust in Me, for I’m giving you hope, and it is not hope which will be disappointed. It is a hope that is rooted in My promises to you. It is rooted in My faithfulness to you.
“Take time to recall, to bring to mind My promises, to bring to mind the things which I have done in the past, the way in which I have been faithful. For I have been faithful before, and I will be faithful again.
“Trust in Me, for I am there with you, the one who is writing in the story of your life a new chapter. It is a chapter of My faithfulness. It is a chapter of My mercy. Look to Me, for I am the one who is with you, the one who is protecting you.
“Now is a time to draw near, to enter into the shadow of My wing, to draw close in a place of intimacy. For it is in that place of intimacy that you will have the security that you need, that you will have the provision that is necessary. Celebrate My goodness. Celebrate My presence in your life, for where I am, there is security. Where I am, there is safety.
“Pray for those around you. Pray for repentant and humble hearts, for many will perish in this time. Many will turn from Me, but I will bring you into a place where you will shine with My light, where others will be drawn to Me through you. Pray for open hearts. Pray for conversion of souls, for now is a time of harvest. It is a time when others will reap and where others will see tears washed away as they find hope and strength in Me.
“I am the Lord who is with you. Continue to enter into My presence. Continue to draw near to Me, for I am the Lord who is there with you, the Lord who leads you forward in this new season.”

As I’ve been seeking the Lord for a word for this next year, this next Jewish year, there are five things which He has highlighted to me.
The first is shaking, that there will be an increase in shaking, especially of those things that we thought would be secure: shaking of political realities, shaking of society, shaking of churches. Whatever is not built upon the Lord will be shaken, and that will fall. The things which are not built upon Christ will fall. There is much which will change, for the Lord is bringing forth a shaking, a shaking which will show that which is built upon Him.
The second thing which I see is winds of change which are blowing. I see dominoes being blown over, like a house of cards that collapses, those shallow-rooted trees that are uprooted. The Lord says, “Put down deep roots in Me. Make Me your security. Make Me your source, for that which is grounded deeply will stand. But as the winds of change blow, that which is built upon sand will fall.”
The third thing the Lord is saying is fear. There is a crushing of life that the enemy is seeking to bring, a crushing, a strangling of life. There is a fear which will come, and the antidote to fear is love. The Lord says, “Open up your heart to My love. Open up your heart to give My love to others, for love is the antidote to fear which would seek to strangle, fear which would seek to contain and to destroy.”
The fourth thing is that there is a battle for the story of lives. There is God’s story and there is the enemy’s story, which are trying to attach themselves to the experiences of our lives. The Lord desires that we understand the story of our life from His perspective, to understand what He has been doing and what He is doing. And the enemy is seeking to attach his story, his meaning, to bring destruction.
The Lord says, “There is a battle for the story of your lives. Take time with Me in My presence to allow Me to show you and to give you understanding of what I have done and of what I am doing. For I am the one who defines who you are, not the story the enemy is trying to tell.”
The fifth and last thing which I sense the Lord saying is that this year is a year of the convergence of the paths of the last years, that there are things which have been happening in the last years which are converging together for good or for bad. The choices of the last years will bring their fruit, for good or for bad.
The Lord says, “Repent. Repent of the wrong choices that have been made. Bring your life into alignment with Me, and as you bring your life into alignment with Me, you will cut off the bad fruit. Know that I am the Lord, the Lord who is with you, the Lord who is faithful, faithful and kind.”

The Lord’s been giving me seven keys for this year.
The first key is generosity. There are challenges in finance which are coming in this year, and the key is giving. The key is giving to others. The key is being generous, for as you allow the Lord’s blessing to flow through you, the Lord’s blessing will flow to you. There is a generosity which is needed as an antidote to selfishness, to isolation, which will become apparent in this year. Many will seek to keep things to themselves in order to try to survive, but the Lord says the antidote is generosity.
The second thing is humility and repentance, a repentant heart, not thinking that you have all of the answers. When you make mistakes, be quick to ask for forgiveness. It is important to approach the Lord with humility and to come with a repentant heart, for this prepares the way for blessing to flow.
The third key is to be quick to forgive, not holding on to judgment. There are many tests which will come in this year where others will hurt you and where you will need to choose to forgive. If you hold on to judgment, you will be judged. Be quick to forgive. Be quick to allow the Lord’s blessing to flow.
The fourth thing is to bless others, to pray for God’s best and God’s blessing over them, to pray for those who oppose you, and to pray for the goodness of God, to pray for an experience of the blessing of God, to pray for your enemies, to pray for those who persecute you.
The fifth key that the Lord gave me for this year is to make Christ the rock in your life, commitment to the lordship of Jesus in every season and in every circumstance, whether things are going well or not, being committed to having Christ at the center.
The sixth key is the Word of God, taking time in the Word and allowing the Word of God to bring truth to your mind, to renew your mind, allowing the Word of God, the Scripture, to be the plumb line of truth against which you weigh everything else. For there are many deceptive voices which will come, which will seek to take you away from the Lord’s truth. It is being established in His Word that will give you that plumb line of truth, that firm and secure foundation where you will know the truth that brings freedom.
The seventh thing is intimacy with the Father, pursuing the presence of the Lord. In this year, you will not get away with a lack of intimacy. It is a year when it is necessary to draw near to the Father, when it is necessary to shelter in the shadow of His wing. For it is in His presence that there is security. It is in His presence that there is safety.
And the Lord says, “I invite you to draw near to Me. I want and I long for you to draw close to Me, for that is a safe place, the place where I offer you My refuge.”

How to read an older prophetic word
As with any prophetic word, test what is shared. Pay attention to Scripture, distinguish the prophetic impression from the interpretation placed around it, and remember that repentance, obedience, prayer and human choices can affect how a situation unfolds. An older word may still encourage or challenge you, but it should never be treated as a fixed script of the future.
