Rosh Hashanah, prophecy and a life of ministry

If you have come here looking for Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, a prophetic word for 5787 or simply a clearer sense of what God may be saying in this season, my hope is that these resources will help you return to Scripture, listen to God and respond with faith and discernment.

About Kevin Bridges

Kevin Bridges is the voice behind Daily Prophetic, but prophetic ministry is only one part of a much longer ministry story.

More than thirty years of Christian ministry experience

Kevin has more than thirty years of Christian ministry experience, including many years serving in Christian ministry experience and working within or alongside churches and ministries in different nations across six continents. That journey has included many years serving within or alongside existing churches and ministries, often in support roles alongside leaders and ministry teams.

His ministry background has included teaching, prayer, pastoral encouragement, leadership support, cross-cultural ministry, practical service and prophetic ministry. He has studied theology and has spent significant seasons serving under other leaders, including periods of ministry without salary.

Daily Prophetic grew out of this wider ministry journey. The prophetic work sits within decades of Scripture, prayer, service, ministry teams, learning from other leaders and trusting God across very different cultures and circumstances.

Years of service alongside others

For many years, ministry meant helping leaders, supporting churches and ministries, working behind the scenes, teaching when asked, praying with people and doing what was needed. Those years of service continue to shape the way Kevin understands ministry today.

The aim is not to build dependence on a prophetic personality. It is to help people turn toward God, recognise His voice more clearly, stay rooted in Scripture and respond with faith, wisdom and personal responsibility.

Why discernment matters to me

I believe prophecy should point people toward God rather than make them dependent on a prophetic voice. A word may strengthen, encourage, comfort, warn or bring something into focus, but it should be tested. Scripture remains the measuring line, and important decisions deserve prayer, facts, wise counsel and personal responsibility as well as spiritual discernment.

A grounded approach to Rosh Hashanah and prophecy

Rosh Hashanah brings together the biblical text, living Jewish tradition and Christian reflection. Prophetic ministry adds another layer. These categories are related, but they are not interchangeable, and keeping them distinct helps us approach both the feast and prophecy with greater clarity.

Biblical teaching is grounded in Scripture. Jewish practices are described in their Jewish context. Christian interpretation is identified as interpretation. Prophetic impressions are offered prayerfully and should be tested rather than treated as equal to Scripture.
